Introduction cum Human Right Watch Group formation program organized at Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality, Banke Province 5

Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC) organized Human Rights Watch Group formulation and Introductory Meeting between Stake Holders and Beneficiaries and Action Plan Preparation program has been accomplished on 4th January, 2019 in Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality Banke. The program was held with the objective to sensitize and make local government responsive towards community’s rights to education, health and food security. INSEC Nepalgunj’s program officer Saraswoti Malla introduced about the project along with INSEC’s long ran movements of human rights and social justice. Also, she talked about project’s awareness raising programs of people’s education, social and cultural rights while playing the role as pressure group for stake holder’s accountability. Likewise, Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality’s Chair Head Lahuram Tharu opines that there are several organizations working on various thematic projects but no visible changes brought yet. He has said that despite its vagueness INSEC proposed project’s objective seems appealing to the rural municipality. He also added that, this program is expected to contribute to ease rural municipality’s duty and committed to be of help in implementation. Same day, 13 member’s watch group has been formed appointing Dhan Oli coordinator, Secretary Prem Bahadur Tharu, members Maya Chaudhary, Jyoti Nepali, Tara Dangi, Tirshana Lama, Purna Tharu, Manisha Khadka, Premkali Tharu, Bim KumarI Bista and Dambar Dangi. The event was chaired by Saraswoti Malla whereas, RM chair head Lahuram Tharu was chief guest and special guest was Deputy-Chair-Head Dhani Khatri. In the program number of 35 participants as, 9 wards chair persons, government staffs, representatives of civil society and journalists.
