Pre-review of Human Rights Year Book held

The Informal Sector Centre (INSEC) Siraha and Dhanusa has organized a half Yearly pre-review of the incidents of Human Rights Violation collected for the publication of Human Rights Year Book 2018.

According to INSEC District Representative Durga Pariyar of Siraha, Chief of Administration Office, Som Prasad Bhattarai suggested to incorporate the incidents by the state actors and various organized groups together.

He added, everyone should walk in the same path for protection of human rights whereas the all the parties of society and organs of the state should act accordingly to stop impunity.

DSP of Area Police Office, Lahan Hira Bahadur Pandey highlighted the importance of human rights year book as it incorporates all the incidents of human right violation.

INSEC district representative presented 56 incidents of human rights violations collected within the 6 month of period.

According to INSEC District Representative Binod Kumar Ravi Das, a half Yearly pre-review of the incidents on Human Rights Violation for the publication of Human Rights Year Book 2018 was held in Janakpur.

INSEC District Representative presented 139 incidents of human right violation within 6 months period among which, there were 6 incidents of Killing, 19 incidents of attempt to kill, 3 incidents of rape, 3 incidents of attempt to rape, 2 victims of conflict, 2 incidents of polygamy, 1 incident of killing led by dowry issue, 7 victims of Lathi charge, 1 incident of torture along with 92 arrests.

102 of them were victimized by the state actors whereas 37 were victimized by the non-state actors. According to Ravidas, 7 were beaten, 1 was tortured and 92 were arrested.

According to District Police Inspector, Muktinath Sapkota, the state has failed to fulfill its responsibilities in various movements. He expressed his commitment to avoid the incidents of human rights violation.

President of women rights defenders group Urmila Yadav suggested to include the incidents of suicide committed due to dowry issues, child marriage along with incident of deceived people while going for foreign employment.

Human rights activists Hemlata Sigdel said the INSEC should take initiative to provide justice to the victims separating the cases of human right violation.

Nirmala Kafle form WOREC suggested to include the incidents of attempted rape, victims of dowry and polygamy, child marriage that are missing in the annual report.
