World Day for International Justice- 17July, 2018
Every year on July 17, World Day for International Justice is observed all around the world. The Rome Statute was adopted at a diplomatic conference in Rome on 17th July 1998. Ever since then, the day is being celebrated as ‘International Justice Day’. INSEC organized various programmes all over the country to mark the day. The aim of the day is to promote international criminal justice and as a way of supporting the work of the ICC.
INSEC Biratnagar submitted a memorandum through Internal Affairs and Law Minister Hikmat Karki to pressurize Prime Minister on ratifying the Rome Statute. INSEC Pokhara too submitted memorandum to Chief District Officers of Gandaki Province. Likewise, INSEC Kathmandu organized an interaction programme on ‘Rome Statute of International Criminal Court and Nepal’, INSEC Nepalgunj on ‘Situation and challenges pertaining to justice’ while INSEC Dhangadi on ‘Public’s Access to justice and the challenges’.
