Press Release
Our serious attention has been drawn on an incident of padlocking at HURADEC office on March 19 by cadres of Young Communist league (YCL). We condemn the incident.
The incident description states that the office was padlocked by the group of YCL cadres led by district working committee chairperson Santosh KC by evacuating the office on March 19 on charge of working against the election code of conduct and not maintaining accountability and transparency.
There is always an option to lodge complaint at District Administration Office, Social welfare Office against the organization if someone does not like their activities. But despite of that, “being judge” and attempting to reconcile the justice by YCL is not only undemocratic, but also a crime.
We seriously condemn the act of YCL and put our demand to local administration to create an environment for immediate operation of the padlocked office.
