Stress given on transparency of civil society

Chairperson Krishna Prasad Sapkota of Nepal bar Association said that the role of civil society must be made transparent especially after the bad image of some NGOs after the earthquake.

He expressed his view during the interaction program on governance of civil society and internal governance held in Kavre on August 27. He added that all organizations must not be compared based on few NGOs.

Tom Sapkota of NGO Federation complained about the policy of government which is not favorable to NGOs. He added that the government has weakened the role of NGOs through various policies.

Chairperson Moti Ram Timilsina of FNJ said that the internal democracy is very weak among the organizations and anomalies have been seen in some organization. Journalist Madhusudan Guragain said that there are many organizations registered however very few of them are active. He added that organization must improve themselves before alleging others.

The program was organized by INSEC where three group meetings were held on good governance of society and internal governance. The group had also discussed and presented the conclusion of the discussion.
