Youths interacted on civil society related legal and policy issues
Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) has organized an interaction program on proposed law drafted by Nepal Law Commission to regulate civil society organization in Nepal. Representatives from Kathmandu based youth led civil society organizations and networks, NGO Federation of Nepal and experts participated in the event and brainstormed on the proposed law and concerns raised by NGO Federation of Nepal on 25th January, 2019 in Kathmandu. Dr. Indira Shrestha, chairperson of INSEC, requested the participants to share their opinions on the proposed law so that youth voices could be included in the agendas of policy advocacy for legal and policy reform. She has committed that INSEC always contributes to expand civic space for rule of law, social justice and democratic system in Nepal. NGO Federation secretary Ms. Bhawana Bhatta facilitated the interaction by sharing the suggestion and concerns prepared by NGO Federation on the proposed law. Based on the circulated law draft and presentation of Ms. Bhatta, participants shared their opinions and questions. The interaction was chaired by INSEC Chairperson Dr. Indira Shrestha, where executive director Bijaya Raj Gautam delivered welcome speech.
