Appeal to Protect the Life of Dr. Govinda KC

Today is the 12^th day of the 20^th hunger strike of Dr. Govinda KC. He has been on hunger strike demanding the implementation of the previous agreement. Dr. KC was admitted to Seti Hospital for treatment due to health problems and now has been brought to the Tribhuwan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu for treatment.

Dr. KC started his hunger strike from Dhangadhi by demanding seven points including medical reforms. We strongly demand for a meaningful dialogue with KC to save his life. He has stated that previous agreements to which were made to end the hunger strike in the past have not been implemented. The government has a constitutional obligation to protect the lives of people, we request the government of Nepal to take meaningful initiatives to save Dr. KC’s life.
